Waiting 5 mins for it to turn blue…

Or, you know, blue-purple… blurple…

Oh sweetie, we’re gonna have bacteria together!

No seriously, I’m about to toast some Maker’s to that little hint of purple. The nitrogen cycle is finally under way! I’ve waited a month for exactly this moment. Now to wait for the cycle to complete, and then maybe we’ll actually get to keep fish in our big glass water box.
Bonus photo of BLOOOMSTAAALKS:

For some reason I just hear “bloom stalks” yelled in a dramatic Pokemon villain-esque voice (I think they’re technically called “runners,” but “bloom stalks” is way more fun). But really, one of my Amazon swords has a couple plantlets dropping roots, so I get to do some propagating soon!

SUPER EXCITED FISH BLOGGER OUT!

Oh right, here’s some parameters:

  • Ammonia 1.5 ppm
  • Nitrite 0.25 ppm
  • Nitrate a little more than 0 ppm
  • pH 7.6

And added 40 drops of ammonium chloride.
